Warren Greving has been doing hi-tech product research and development since 1986. He consults on the challenges of international R&D organizations working in the global mixture of developed and developing markets with a focus on US, India, China and Russia.
His career includes a wide variety of roles with Hewlett-Packard from software engineer, management, international marketing, strategic leadership, technical research and the development of "startup" organizations. From 2001 to 2008, he led the establishment and development of three new, research organizations for HP in India, China and Russia. He left HP in 2009 to start S.Labs, his latest effort which is taking his corporate R&D experience into a non-corporate organization.
He is passionate about the value of diversity as a foundation for creativity, the diversity that comes from the huge variety of human culture and experience. There is incredible beauty in the marvelous complexity of people. He is passionate about the value for people that can be created from technology. It can change the experience of people's lives in wonderful ways. And he is passionate about how products get created that are at the intersection of people and technology. As Steve Job's expresses it, "the intersection of liberal arts and technology".
He has degrees in cross-cultural communications, computer science, mathematics, and American secondary education. The locations of his career span Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, India, Iowa, Kentucky, Colorado and California. He has been studying and speaking Mandarin Chinese since 1979.
